  • Usage data and your streak are linked to your account, and are deleted when your account is deleted.

Gool6 is a free football live-score and prediction game. You pick your "Select 6" score predictions, earn points, and compare your standing on a global leaderboard. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data Gool6 collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Gool6 is a free game. There are no purchases, no subscriptions, no advertising, and no real-money betting or gambling of any kind. Points and leaderboard standings have no cash value.

By using Gool6, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Who we are

Gool6 is operated by Essina Ltd ("Gool6", "we", "us", "our"). If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@gool6.app.

The current version of this policy is published at https://gool6.app/privacy.

What data we collect and why

We deliberately collect as little as possible. Here is the complete list of the personal data Gool6 handles and the reason for each:

Phone number

Your phone number is your account. We use it to sign you in with a one-time code (OTP) sent to you over WhatsApp. We do not use your phone number for marketing, and we do not sell it. Because sign-in and predictions are tied to your account, providing a phone number is necessary to save predictions and appear on the leaderboard.

Display name

When you set up your account you choose a display name. This name is shown publicly on the global leaderboard so other players can see who is ranked where. Please avoid using your full legal name or anything private if you don't want it shown publicly — you can change your display name in the app.

Prediction data

We store the "Select 6" score predictions you make, along with the points you earn and your resulting position on the leaderboard. This is the core function of the game.

Authentication / session tokens

To keep you signed in so you don't have to enter a code every time, the app stores a session token on your device, in the app's own private storage area. Android's app sandbox stops other apps on the phone from reading it, and it sits inside whatever device-level encryption your phone applies. On Android, this token may be included in the device's Google Auto Backup. That means if you uninstall and reinstall the app on the same Google account, your signed-in session can be restored automatically. These tokens live on your device and in Google's backup service, not somewhere we can read your other data.

App interaction and performance data

Gool6 records minimal app interaction telemetry — screen views and feature interactions — solely to help us make the app faster and to verify testing quality. In practice this means a short record that an event happened: that the app was opened, which screen you moved to, which competition you were looking at and whether you were viewing live, upcoming or completed matches, that a Select 6 slip was submitted for a particular gameweek, and that a particular match's details were opened — along with the app version and a session identifier for that launch.

These events are associated with your account. Each event is stored against your user ID. We do this so that we can tell how many different people hit a slow screen rather than how many times one person did, and so that these records can be deleted with your account when you ask us to delete it.

What the events do not contain: your phone number, your display name, or the content of your predictions. Event names, screen names, and the competition and view names above all come from a fixed list chosen by us — they never carry free text that you typed. The only things you ever type into Gool6 are your phone number and sign-in code, your display name, and your predicted scores — and none of them is ever attached to an event.

Gool6 does not collect crash reports, error reports, or any measurement of how long something took on your device. There is no crash-reporting tool in the app. If a screen fails or the app closes unexpectedly, nothing about that is sent to us.

We use this data for one narrow purpose: to see which parts of the app people actually reach and where they give up on real 2G connections, and to confirm that test builds are working. We do not use it to build a marketing profile of you, to target you, or to make decisions about you.

This data is stored in our own database, inside the same Supabase backend that runs the rest of the app. Gool6 contains no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no tracking library of any kind. Nothing is sent to an analytics vendor, because there is no analytics vendor. Nothing is passed to a data broker, and nothing follows you across other apps or websites.

We do not run third-party advertisements, sell user data, or share personal information with external brokers.

Because these events are linked to your account, they are covered by your rights below: they are kept for up to 90 days, and they are deleted when your account is deleted.

Activity streak ("Days Active")

Gool6 keeps a simple record of the last day you opened the app and how many days in a row you have opened it — your "days active" streak.

It exists for two reasons. It is part of the game: a streak is something to build and to keep going. And during our 14-day closed test it tells us whether testers are actually coming back day after day, which is the point of running the test.

This is a few small values held against your account: the date you were last active, your current streak count, and your best streak so far. It is not a log of everything you do — it does not keep a history of your opens, and it does not record which screens you opened or what you looked at. It is linked to your account, and it is deleted when your account is deleted.

Server logs

Like any app that communicates with a server, your device's IP address is visible to our backend when it makes a request, and our hosting provider records short-lived technical logs of those requests (for example the time, the endpoint called, and whether it succeeded). These logs exist to keep the service secure and working — to detect abuse, diagnose outages, and prevent unauthorised access. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are not used for advertising.

What we do NOT collect

To be clear, Gool6 does not collect any of the following:

  • No email address
  • No precise or approximate location
  • No contacts or address book
  • No payment, banking, or financial information (the app is entirely free)
  • No advertising identifiers and no ad tracking
  • No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
  • No crash reports, error reports, or device performance measurements
  • No tracking of you across other apps or websites

If this ever changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before collecting anything new.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Performance of the service you requested (contract). To create your account, sign you in, save your predictions, rank you on the leaderboard, and keep your days-active streak, we must process your phone number, display name, prediction data, and activity dates. Providing your phone number is a necessary condition of using the prediction and leaderboard features — without it we cannot create or secure your account.
  • Our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working correctly — for example, using session tokens to keep you signed in, keeping server logs to prevent unauthorised access, and using interaction and performance data to find and fix slow or broken screens and to check that test builds are being used.

Where your local law requires consent for any specific processing, we rely on the consent you give by choosing to sign up and use the app.

How your data is stored and protected

  • Your account, display name, predictions, activity streak, and interaction events are stored in our backend database hosted by Supabase (see "Who we share data with" below).
  • Sign-in uses a one-time code, so there is no password for anyone to steal.
  • Session tokens are held in the app's private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read.
  • Interaction events are write-only from the app: the app can record an event, but cannot read events back — not yours and not anyone else's.
  • Your interaction events and your streak are tied to your account record, so deleting the account removes them automatically.
  • Access to the backend is restricted to the people and systems that operate Gool6.

No system is ever perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") that handle data only on our instructions and only to make Gool6 work:

  • Supabase — provides our backend, database, and authentication hosting. Your account (phone number), display name, predictions, leaderboard standing, activity streak, and the interaction events described above are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited — delivers the one-time sign-in codes to you through the WhatsApp Business Cloud API. Meta processes your phone number for the purpose of sending you that message, and your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

We may also disclose data if we are legally required to do so (for example, in response to a valid legal request), or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

A note on football data: Match fixtures, scores, results, line-ups, and head-to-head history are supplied to the app by a third-party football data provider. This is a one-way flow of information into Gool6. We do not send your personal data to that provider.

International data transfers

Gool6 is offered in Somalia, but the infrastructure that powers it — in particular Supabase and Meta — may store and process data on servers located outside Somalia. This means your data (such as your phone number, display name, and predictions) may be transferred to and processed in other countries. Where this happens, we rely on providers that apply recognised security and data-protection safeguards.

How long we keep your data

  • We keep your account information, display name, predictions, and activity streak for as long as your account is active.
  • One-time sign-in codes are short-lived and expire quickly after they are sent.
  • Interaction and performance events are kept for up to 90 days, then deleted. Because they are linked to your account, you can ask us for a copy of them, and they are deleted along with your account if you delete it — you do not have to wait for the 90 days to run out.
  • Technical server logs are kept only for as long as our hosting provider retains them for security and diagnostic purposes.
  • If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data as described below, except where we are required to keep certain information to meet a legal obligation.

Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data — you can update your display name directly in the app.
  • Delete your account and personal data.

How to request account deletion

To delete your account and the personal data associated with it, email us at privacy@gool6.app from a message that identifies the phone number on the account, or use any in-app account-deletion option if available. We will process your request and confirm once your data has been removed.

Deleting your account removes:

  • your phone number and sign-in record,
  • your display name,
  • your predictions, points, and leaderboard entries,
  • your activity streak and last-active date,
  • your interaction and performance events.

These records are all attached to your account in our database and are removed together — the interaction events and the streak cannot survive the account they belong to. After deletion, your entries will no longer appear on the leaderboard.

To exercise any other right, or if you have a complaint about how we handle your data, contact privacy@gool6.app.

Children's privacy

Gool6 is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@gool6.app and we will delete it. Where local law sets a higher minimum age for using a service like this, that higher age applies.

No gambling or real money

Gool6 is a free-to-play prediction game. There is no entry fee, no purchase, no wagering, and no cash prize. Points and leaderboard rankings are for fun and bragging rights only and cannot be exchanged for money or anything of monetary value.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a feature or change a service provider. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. The current version is always available at https://gool6.app/privacy. Your continued use of Gool6 after an update means you accept the revised policy.
